Stanley Donwood’s Pinguin Books UK interview about his work with Radiohead gave me an insight on how doing creative work and being on that path can sometimes feel like jumping into a precipice. The artist recalls that during his comission for A Moon Shaped Pool he got very close to quitting and just when he was to start looking for a job a stroke of artistic drive gave him energy to complete 14 paintings and defining the visual art direction for the record.
Videogames: I’ve been playing Wolong: Final Destination and it’s a challenging game, while being more of a fan of indie games, I’m also a big fan on samurai story telling and artfull combat.
Music: M83 has a new record out, their eighth studio album Fantasy I don’t know if it’s my favorite of them, perhaps I need to listen to it a few more times but it’s definitely very good, more synths and deeper sounds. Great for going on a run or bike ride.
Books: Still going through Ethan’s Hawke:A bright ray of darkness, the idea of this book is the existential drama of a well known actor, at moments very raw yet truthfull. Also starting to read The Architecture of happiness by Alain de Button, a thin and simple book about architecture, very good for a first approach to architecture with worthy reflections about time and love.
Documentary: ARQUIS . 6 chapters, each one about a different architect, all of them latin american (Brazil, Mexico and Chile).
